Awesome stuff this! Took my son to his first game (also 6) this season. The Wolves cup game. Not the greatest footballing spectacle but we won! Seeing the fascination in his eyes was just fantastic. What made it all the better was the fact I took my old man as well (most likely be the last game he makes it to unfortunately). Three generations at the Boleyn!!
Lap it up Alwaysaniron, and you'll remember it forever!

There were occasions when we scored I'd end up about 20 feet away from me old man and me Uncle.... I used to quite like a boring 0-0 draw every now and then

My boy has just turned 7. Took him to the home games against Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool, Palace & Arsenal this year, his first ever games and he didn't see us lose. Very different to my early years going! Also took him to Noble's testimonial. Great times ahead for you & your boy. My son is hooked. Enjoy!

I used to lean on the barrier NS, but still with a stool
then i'd end up swinging on the barrier and stool would hit the bloke in front of me's legs
so I was an annoying little fucker even back in the early 80's

I was 4 my 1st game.... 1971... scared the shit out of me... especially when I fell off my claret and blue stool whenever we scored...
Seems weird that some kids 1st game will be in the Hotpoint...

Buster - Trundle - Mine was 87 too, I was 6.
We Played Norwich and lost 0-2.
I found a copy of the original matchday program on ebay the other day. £2.99 incl p&p.
Then saw the program at the Watford game and it was an 87 throwback.
To me West Ham is family, My Mum and Dad have season tickets, My brother in law, his parents, my mates, me, mates kids, we all go over there and love it, gives everyone an excuse to see each other, revel in the good times and moan collectively about the bad times.
My Missus and her family are all West Ham too and our first born due in a couple of months will be Wearing a mini kit as soon as possible.
West Ham is a great club, it still has the proper East End feel to it and I've got some of the greatest memories following West Ham, met some great people and had some brilliant jolly's.
Claret and Blue all the way through.

My kids' first game was Norwich, New Year's Day, 2013. We were up in the STB family section, and they had the true modern West Ham experience of witnessing Carlton Cole manage to put the ball over an open goal from no more than 2 yards out.....and he managed that by shooting into the ground!

You haven't got a kid and you're not old enough to have gone in 1980.
Apart from that Egg a great story.

I've been going to West Ham since I was 6, Leicester at home in 1985 was my first game and 3-0 Cottee, McAvennie and Devonshire scored.
I took my 2 x daughters 8 & 5 to their first and what will be their last game at Upton Park vs Arsenal the other week, when Carroll scored a hatrick.
They absolutley loved it and are now Andy Carroll mad, I did tell them that he doesn't do it every game, but they now want season tickets.
Its been a great season and there is some much positive news about West Ham at the moment with the stadium move, increasing the capacity to 60k etc..
There is only 1 x thing I am waiting for and that is a trophy it doesn't matter if it is League Cup or FA Cup, just a decent trophy and then that will complete me. I don't think it is too far off with the current team.

My first game was in '87 too Buster. I would have been 8 and I wore the WHOLE kit just in case I got the call from the bench to play.

Superb moment when you take your kids and they see the pitch for the first time, brought back good memories for me when my son did it as it reminded me of how I felt back in 87 when I first went. Shame yours isn't able to sample the Boleyn before we leave but he'll love it all the same when he goes.
